Day 2 of the 31 days of Halloween 2020 New Resources for ESL or EFL Students

LINK to the Halloween resource: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/31-days-of-Halloween-for-Kindergarten-and-Elementary-ESL-6087756

Day 2.  Halloween BINGO game!!  Today it is the BINGO game! I love playing this game in class. There is a template for the students.

The calling cards for the teacher. I only added these colors. If you need more colors just color the students template or let me know to make them for you.

There are more things to do with the calling cards. I suggest students sort the cards on their template to review the vocabulary.

Incorporate speaking ¡ Take a look.

The sorting can be done on a pocket chart or on the table.

The student’s template can be turned into a mobile. I found this idea of using straws to do it. It was quite easy. I used thin straws but maybe thicker straws would be better. I passed yarn through the Straw to put the mobile up.

 Finished look.

I would love to see how how you used the templates.

Birthday Unit Worksheets- part 3

Almost done with the birthday unit. I had some worksheets from previous years and made extra ones. I added them them to the same product from the previous blog post about the Birthday Unit Vocabulary.
Worksheet 1. A simple worksheet to review a basic grammar point. Then, students cut the pictures and sentence and write more sentences on their notebooks.

Worksheet 2. This is a reading and coloring the picture worksheet.
I used a finger eye to read. I don’t remember where I got them. Watch the video.
Worksheet 3. Instead of color by number , it is a color by word. After the worksheet is done the children cut it up and have the student next to him/her glue the puzzle worksheet on the notebook.

Worksheet 4. This worksheet is useful for lower level students.
When the students have to do a matching word to picture I ask them to use a different color for each word.

For the numbered cupcakes, dictate  the color for each one.

Teacher:  Cupcake number one is red.

Worksheet 5. Dictate the color of each cake. When you do this it helps with listening.

Teacher:  Cake number one is purple.

Have the students color the number as you dictate.

Teacher:  Number one is blue.

Students cut and paste the numbers where they belong.

Once the worksheet is completed, make a mobile by hanging the cakes in the correct number sequence.
Worksheet 6. After the worksheet is colored, students can cut all the cakes and write a sentence describing each one on their notebooks.
Worksheet 7. Decorating a cupcake should be fun! Have the students add anything they want such as real sprinkles to decorate their personal cupcake.
Worksheet 8. I made two versions for this worksheet. It is an already colored worksheet that you can place into a clear plastic sheet and students can write using a dry erase marker.
The other version is a normal worksheet.
Worksheet 9. Another read and color worksheet. Thinking that the cake can be turned into a puppet for reading.
scuola primaria
Worksheet 10 and 11. I included easier to complete worksheets for the lower level students that you might have.

Worksheet 12. For more advanced students this worksheet is great. After the worksheet is done, cut it all and make a match game.

Worksheet 13. After the students complete the worksheets do a little listening as you dictate the colors of all the vocabulary words.
Teacher: Color the lemonade yellow.
Have the students cut the sentences and pictures and glue on their notebooks as they match them.
Worksheet 14. The questionnaire. Have the students walk around asking questions to their classmates and completing the questionnaire. Students can write the results on their notebooks.

There will be another blog post with  more resources for the Birthday unit. Follow me!!

Brunch (breakfast and Lunch) Theme

More food related unit, breakfast and lunch!
Link to the resources:
https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Breakfast-and-Lunch-for-ELLs-2393252

I have added the resources from this blog post:
Please check it.

It is a good idea to complete all your worksheets and bring in a model of the activity. Students will know what is expected from them to do.
Ws elementary 1:  Students read and color as indicated.
Grab some bottle caps and have children place them where you tell them.
Teacher: red bottle cap on the sandwich.
Finish the indications.
Teacher: Where is the blue bottle cap?
Students: On the milk.
Teacher: Where is the juice ?
Students: Under the green bottle cap.
Have them cut apart the cards and make up their own game, it can be memory, match, board game, etc.
Worksheet elementary 2:
And a worksheet can be turned into anything. I made a mobile!

Worksheet elementary 3: pizza shapes. More activities to do with a worksheet. Tell the children that they are going to complete the complete the pizza slice with some shapes (give them the shape template or have them make the shapes), But there are some rules.
Place the cards on a pocket chart or the board.  They can only color the shapes in the colors on the cards( red, blue, yellow, green, orange), they can only use the shapes on the worksheet and that there shouldn´t be more than 5 of each shape in the same color.
Have the children complete the worksheet. When finished, play BINGO!
Have the children get a marker or crayon in black, instruct them that when you name the shape with number and color , if they have it , it should be crossed out.
Teacher: Four green circles. (Use the cards to call out Bingo!)
Worksheet 4. Sort items into food or drinks.
Worksheet 5. Counting.

Food Unit Worksheet 6.  This worksheet is help express likes and dislikes related to food. Students cut from magazines pictures of the food they like and don't like.
Worksheet 7.
Worksheet 8
Found a different kind of graph making on the newsletter of the www.Mailbox.com.
I placed the graph paper horizontally inside a sheet protector. I tied yarn to each hole, so each child can place their own clothespin in their choice. The file will be free, the link is above.
Sort countable and uncountable food flashcards on the board. Students can do the same on their notebooks using the flashcard worksheet or from magazine cutouts.
Use the flashcards to introduce how to ask questions with countable and uncountable nouns.
Draw a grid on the board and assign a number to each flashcard.
Have students write a sentence on their notebooks for each number.
Review countable and uncountable nouns in a sentence.
Number 1: It´s a hot dog.
Number 2: It´s pizza.
Number 7: They´re hot dogs.
Teacher: Number 8 !
Students: It´s soup.
Teacher: Number 10!
                                                   Students: They´re sandwiches.

                                                      A book !
