Use the food unit worksheets as a very cost-effective resource. If you don’t access to a lot of other active materials, just print and copy for your class. If you want to cut cost even more, place them in a clear plastic sheet and students write on them with a dry erase marker and then erase with a napkin. So, check all the worksheets included in the resource to use with the diversity of students in your class.

There is a set of vocabulary building worksheets to keep students actively engaged.The worksheets are a way into guiding your learners to learn.

This set will offer a hand-on way to reinforcing the new vocabulary even more for the very young learners. If the students cut them, they are cards to keep handy for writing or make them a matching game to play with classmates or at home.

These are the visual learning worksheets that involve drawing. They provide the opportunity for the students to draw the vocabulary words making a connection between them. Have the students draw the drinks as in the example, cut and paste on paper and then write sentences.

Students will draw on the worksheet as they express their creativity by illustrating the food and drinks words. This will be an enjoyable activity leading to the retention of the vocabulary.

Let’s use these worksheets as recapitulation to review the previously unit taught units such as the face. Reinforce the vocabulary and enhance the retention of those concepts.

Have the students review the family members as a way to consolidate the learning of that previous theme. They will apply their knowledge of those words in a new context such as the foods unit making connections between both units to express likes or dilikes.

These worksheets will provide your students with exposure to a variety of sentences structures to contribute to language acquisition.

Love to use worksheets to review previous units. Combine listening to creativity by doing this worksheet. Numbers 1 to 20 in a sandwich. By listening to your instructions, students learn to follow spoken directions. Students will expand their vocabulary in another context by associating a color to a number. Reviewing numbers 1 to 20 is crucial to your learners. Understanding numbers is important for classroom instructions, such as looking up a page in their books, for writing the date and more.

 This can also be a speaking activity.                                                                                            Ask the color of each number: What color is number 20?

These worksheets are here to improve reading comprehension. Students will understand the sentences in the context and respond appropriately, with the result of effective communication. As for Grammar there is yes/no question + be worksheet.

I love to include questionnaire worksheets in all the resources of this Serie. This is where students put in use their linguistic competence with a simple directed dialogue. They encourage the students to read a question to a classmate and have to write the answer. It is a practice for paeaking, listening and writing. You can also graph results on the board.

Graphing the favorite food. Do this one as a simple survey by placing the options on the board, using the flashcards: pizza, hamburger, chicken, fries, hot dog, salad. Create a bar graph on the board as they will come with their worksheet and place it under their option bar. Tally the results.

Food surveys are always fun! Many options you can think of and the students will come up with even more surveying ideas.

Pets Unit Worksheets for Elementary ELL

Students will describe in long sentences their favorite pet that they have drawn on the worksheet. My cat has blue eyes and a small nose. Ask questions as your students show you their animal: What is it? What color is it?

Learning to use adjectives to describe pets will contribute to the student’s vocabulary expansion and gives a more varied language repertoire to use. I am focusing on long and short basically.Students will identify pets by their tails. If there is another adjective that you would like in the worksheet, let me know.

This is more of a short reading comprehension worksheet. It comes with a short text that students will read and comprehend in order to complete the task. Students will answer to the question: What color is it?

Here is another reading comprehension worksheet.

Another worksheet to reinforce numbers 1 to 20 using frogs. Start by dictating the color of each number and have the students write the number word. A worksheet to use for logical mathematical competence.

Then, as an extension activity have the stduents cut the cards and glue then in an extra paper in numerical order. They have to write the missing numbers of the sequence.

Be fancy and provide each student with a clipboard, pencil, and the questionnaire worksheet. After the writing all the answers, gather the students in different groups to share their findings and discuss the results.

Rooms of the House Worksheets for Elementary ESOL

The house unit worksheets allow your students to practice and reinforce the new vocabulary and grammar structures. Repetition is essential to acquire the new language.

Take a look of all the worksheets included in the resource to practice the functional language to identify the parts of the parts and the location of the family members:

A worksheet that will develop the critical thinking skill of the annalisis of the text and answer.

Students will match each sentence to each picture of a room. Then, dictate the color of each room: The living room is yellow. A worksheet to help identify the rooms in a house.

Do some writing using the worksheet. Students can write simple sentences or questions.

There is another worksheet with the family members and a text that says where to place each person, as a cut and paste worksheet. Practice the skill of inference and the use of prepositions to describe location.

Some students can work independently on the worksheets, encouraging self-reliance. It is an easy cut and paste the rooms of the house. Dictate the color of each room: Color the bathroom pink!

When handing out worksheets keep in mind the variety of formats, such as a fill in the word or trace the word to prevent monotony in the classroom. Some worksheets can be done alone with almost any help  to foster learner autonomy.

There is a set of more worksheets to use as a form of assessment to gauge students’ understanding and progress in grammar.

The Color the house worksheets can be assigned as homework. It will give student a way to continue practicing what they learned in class.

Can't miss the favorite worksheet. Invite the students to draw and color their favorite room of the house  and then share their creation talking about their room. Also tell the stdudents to draw or glue a picture of themselves in the room. They can also write a caption stating where they are: I am in the bedroom.

Perfect unit to graph. Have the students stand up with their worksheets ready. Prepare a bar chart on the board with the numbers 1 to 6 maybe. Students will come and say: There are four members in my family and stick it under number four. At the end, count how many families are in each number and discuss the results.

Questionnaire worksheet.They are interactive and encourage active participation.

The favorite room of the house can be graphed, but add the variant of the color. Tell your students to color the room of their choice. You will count the favorite room and the color as well.

Include the worksheets to carfeully plan your lesson and use them as an assessment tool.

Labeling worksheets are for your students to support writing.Students love to move on to worksheets with the cute family members. 

Some students just need a little help to develop writing in English. Here is a simple tracing worksheet. This one is with mother and father, and I included another worksheet with mom and dad. I can write any word that you are using in your teaching.

Playing Picture Bingo improves family members recognition and their facial features. They will have fun and lower their anxiety factor in class. Have the students color the hair in any of the playing colors by using the small cards included in the resource. Those will be your calling cards.

Teacher: Mother has brown hair! If the student has it, he/she will cross it out. The winner is the one to cross all the family members.

Adding adjectives to express the physical characteristics of the family members can be challenging for the newcomers. Practice using young and old and tall short to make more meaningful the way to talk about the people. This is a set of sorting worksheets. Students will cut any of the worksheets and paste where it corresponds. They can draw or bring pictures of their family members and sort accordingly.

Let’s go for a crossword fun to improve independent learning.

Engage students into writing the real names of their family members. Then, Let’s work on sentence construction to develop the linguistic competence. On a paper or notebook students can write sentences about their families as my example.

Promote active learning with this worksheet.

Students will complete the sentence and will be a prompt for extra writing.

Reading simple sentences and matching to the correct picture and write the corresponding name will model proper writing.

Another worksheet to use for reading short sentences as part of the the reading instruction routine.

Adding a little spice to the writing part, there two dice. One with long hair for women and another with short hair for men. Throw the dice, complete the sentences and color accordingly.

Students will draw their family and write a short description.Ask them questions about the drawing: Who's this? What's his/hername?

Use the designed questionnaires, there are three to choose from, such as “How many people are there in your family?" You can prepare a bar graph on the board. Challenge your students to compete in two teams to see who can collect the most survey responses within a given time limit. Give an award and count the answers.
