ESL Class

School objects with facial features make such a creative way to combine two essential vocabulary sets. Students will build vocabulary while reinforcing key concepts through repetition. By blending two familiar topics—faces and school supplies—students encounter repeated vocabulary in new ways.

Giving school supplies faces makes the lesson more relatable. There is a set of flashcards for your students who have already seen the face unit or the school object unit separately, combining them serves as a natural review of both. Have the students label the parts of the face and draw the missing ones.

face flashcards

“Face the Object” Craft. Give the school object flashcards to a group of students. They will make posters. Students can add face parts with yarn, chenille, pompoms, etc. Then, label the parts of the face. Following a description for later on to present their creation to the class.

This fusion encourages creativity! Students can create their own “school supply friends,” describe them, write about them, using the small cards.

Mix & Match Puzzle Game with the small cards. Cut cards into two parts: school object & word.  Students match the correct pairs.

Have the students place the smaller cards (all in one page) in alphabetical order. Then, write them down on their notebooks.

Draw the Missing Face worksheets. There are several worksheets with school object with some face parts missing. Students can draw and color as they wish and write a text. Have them exchange their creation with a partner to read and give feedback.

Combine following instructions + vocabulary + grammar with this worksheet. Give instructions on how to color each part of the face for each school item, as students check the vocabulary. Then, students will answer the questions provided.

Personalising worksheets!

Print the simple board game with spaces featuring different school supplies.

When students land on a square, they must answer the question of the color card they landed on: If it is pink, the question is: What is it?

It’s a backpack. If answered correctly, the player can move along the path.

Farm Animals Printable Books

This resource is included here:   https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Farm-Unit-for-Elementary-EFL-3790548

By combining sentence tracing, vocabulary recognition, and matching, students build skills in a hands-on, meaningful way. Students practice possessive constructions like “The farmer’s tractor”, helping them understand how ownership works in English, by physically connecting the object to its owner with yarn.

Let students color the pictures after they trace the sentences. After the book is assembled, pair students up to read each other's books and check the yarn matches.

Take a look of the pages in the book.

Mommy & Baby Farm Animal Ring Book – Interactive & Versatile Learning

It comes with printable “Snapshot” templates and camera. This activity combines creativity, vocabulary development, and categorization. Students “capture” the farm animals and their babies, as they cut and paste the animal on the corresponding snapshot frame.

This book can be used in several ways:

📚 As a ring book for individual review and matching

or 🧲 On a pocket chart for interactive class games

Foldable “What Do Farm Animals Give Us?” Mini-Books

The final printable book in this set focuses on an essential concept for young learners: what farm animals produce. Each foldable book spotlights a single farm animal and includes three key items that animal provides (like milk, eggs, or wool), reinforcing vocabulary and the real-world value of farm animals.

I've gathered games, worksheets, and creative ideas to prepare your lesson plan for the farm unit!
