The wrap-up part is the end of the lesson and the time to consolidate learning.

Just plan a short activity to reinforce the key concepts learned throughout the class session.

It is an opportunity for you to check on what went well, what you should focus on next lesson. Don’t skip this important step.

It is an activity to solidify their understanding, to internalize new vocabulary and structures from the lesson. Just few minutes to practice using the language in context.

Plan a well-structured wrap-up to give a sense of closure to the lesson.

Here are some effective wrap-up activities to include in your lesson plan:

 Select a quick review game that revisits the key vocabulary or concepts from the lesson as a way to help students remember what they’ve learned.

If you use a reward system, distribute them at the end of the lesson.

Quick Drawing Activity such as my Favorite Worksheet. Give each student the worksheet and ask them to quickly draw their favorite item related to the lesson. After a few minutes, they can share their drawings with a partner or the whole class as a show and tell.

Writing the production part of the lesson plan to teach English Language Learners

The "production" part of a lesson plan," is where students actively use the language skills or concepts they've been learning during the lesson. The learners (ELLs) will perform tasks in English.

What to plan?

 Look for:

·      practical and communicative Student-Centered Activities that makes the learning style a priority.

Task-Based Practice such as role-plays using finger puppets. This helps students practice speaking in a low-pressure environment.

Show and tell activities.

Interactive Games where students must use the target language creating a dynamic class where students want to be in.

I highly plan games for this stage of the lesson plan. When students are having fun, they're more motivated to use the language actively. You can make sure that even the shy students will be to participate reducing anxiety. 

Games are there to apply what they've learned in meaningful ways. Playing games promote critical thinking and language use simultaneously. The printable games allow students to practice the same language structures multiple times in varied and interesting ways, reinforcing learning without feeling repetitive. They usually want play them over and over again.Select the games to cater to the different learning styles that you have in a class. 

Some ideas :

Matching Games. Use cards for the students to match the picture with the correct word. The focus is on vocabulary and comprehension.

Memory (Concentration) is another game for trying to find a matching pair. This helps with vocabulary retention.

Print the bingo templates with pictures related to the lesson’s theme. Call out the words or show pictures, and students mark the correct item on their cards. Great for reinforcing vocabulary and listening skills.

Dominoes where students play by matching pictures to words or words to words.

Themed Board Games. As students land on different spaces, they might have to name the image, or say a complete a sentence.

Writing the practice part of the lesson plan to teach English Language Learners

After the a well done presentation of the new material, this is the next step: PRACTICE!

This is the moment to reinforce and apply the material presented. Use repetition of those concepts to help the students solidify the understanding.

Students will work on the new language using the workbook or worksheets providing different contexts  and multiple activities to engage and complete tasks.

Plan practice of the new concepts and language in which the students will use the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing on their own along with vocabulary and grammar.

Using the worksheets will allow the assessment of your students' understanding and progress. It also provides an opportunity to give immediate feedback, helping students correct errors and improve.

Include differentiated instruction to tailor to needs of your students in the sleection of the worksheets to hand in. Don’t skim on oportunities for the learners to practice.

The materials you can use for the practice part of a lesson plan to consolidate learning:

1. Visual Aids, such as the flashcards, small cards,Charts and Posters that you can make to display the new vocabulary, sentence structures, or grammar rules in your classroom for drilling purpose.

2. Workbook and/or Worksheets that includes: Matching Exercises,Fill-in-the-Blanks,Sentence Strips, substitution drills and more.

Using flashcards for the presentation part of the lesson plan to teach English Language Learners

Using flashcards will engage the visual learners. The pictures have to be clear to help the learners understand and memorize the new vocabualry presented.

Choose the flashcards that you want to highlight and reinforce through repetition.

Plan interactive activities to keep the interest in the new language. The flashcards are versatile, There are many games and dynamic speaking practice to add to the presentation part.

The flashcards will provide you with an easy assessment of understanding. You can see which words children are grasping and which ones need more planned activities for next class.

Flashcards are easy to carry around from one class to another and use in different classroom settings, such as a large class or smaller groups.

Flashcards can be used for Scaffolding Learning. Write more complex sentences activities to support all students.

The presentation part of a lesson plan for teaching English Language Learners (ELLs) involves the Objective Statement previously written.

It should link the new content to what students already know.

It is Presenting the new material using suitable tools and techniques. Show the new language or grammar point in context. Use flashcards or realia. Plan an activity to capture students' interest.

Use the flashcards: For introducing  the new vocabular,For repetition,For contextualization,For drilling,For games,For question and answer,For Reinforcement.

§  Use Colorful and Clear Images on the flashcards that you choose.

§  Engage All Students

§  Combine with Other Materials: Use flashcards in conjunction with songs, stories, and real objects to provide a multi-sensory learning experience.
