Body Unit Games for Elementary ESL

These Body Unit games help elementary English language learners review body vocabulary through fun, interactive play. The activities target speaking, listening, movement, and collaboration — perfect for classroom centers, small groups, or whole-class practice.

Games like matching, board play, and movement activities provide repeated exposure to vocabulary while supporting communication skills in meaningful contexts.

Board and Speaking Games

Print the board game layout with spaces that players move around. There are cards with questions corresponding to the color the player xan land on. Assemble the tokens beforehand. The players take turns rolling the dice and moving around third colored token on the game board according to the number rolled. The student will answer the question on the card of the color landed in order to have another turn to play.

Domino Game

Students match body vocabulary words to corresponding images, reinforcing word recognition and pronunciation.

Body parts Domino has the objective to help the players learn and associate the word with the corresponding body parts through the matching game. Each domino tile will have two halves. One half will show a picture of a body part, and the other half will show the word of a different body part.

Shuffle the domino tiles and distribute them evenly among players. Player 1 will place one domino tile face up on the table to start the game. A domino tile can be placed to match the pciuture or the word.  The first player to use all their domino tiles wins the game.

Printable letter tiles

Students use letter tiles to build and spell body part vocabulary words. This hands-on activity strengthens spelling awareness and reinforces word recognition in a tactile, engaging way.

Students can:  Build words from picture prompts,  Correct scrambled words,  Race in teams to spell correctly,  Say each word aloud after building it

This game combines visual aids with spelling practice. Students can use to spell out the names of the body parts.  Ensure that you make multiple copies for groups of students. Print the tiles on cardstock. Cut the tiles and place them in ziplock bags.

Matching Activity

Students match words to pictures individually or in small groups.

Body Parts Puzzle Activity

Students assemble vocabulary puzzles by matching body part words with their corresponding images. This activity encourages problem-solving while reinforcing spelling and word recognition.

Students can also use the body part puzzle to aid visual learners. A Way to learn body part vocabulary in an engaging and hands-on way.
