Start by reviewing all the clothes vocabulary using the flashcards provided.

Have the students sort the people flashcards into each season.
Teacher: What season is this ?
Students: SPRING!
Teacher: What is she wearing ?
Students: a t-shirt, a skirt and rain boots.
Teacher: What is this ?
Students: It’s an umbrella.
Teacher: When do you wear a scarf ?
Students: In the Winter.
Teacher: What do you wear in the Spring ?
Students: A raincoat.
                                            Clothes Flashcards:
Have the students sort all the clothes flashcards into each season.

Have the students sort the clothes out on the worksheet.
And sort out along with the weather and Months cutouts from last blog post using the fries containers.
Worksheets! The frogs again, but this time Seasons and Clothes.
This is how students should complete the worksheets.
But, that’s not all, have the students cut and paste the frogs on their notebooks. Then, write sentences according to their level.
I put all the notebook writing together into a book!
I made it all into a video.

This is the second worksheet for the reading ring that I presented last blog post. The students color the worksheet and then cut the strips and place it in the book ring.
An extra worksheet.
Have the students create a Venn Diagram. Students work in pairs. Assign each student a Season in which they will write about the clothes that are worn on their side of the Venn Diagram. And they write in the center of the Venn Diagram the clothes that are common for both seasons. They will have to discuss on the clothes that are common and the ones that are not. Assign different combination of Seasons.
Winter-Fall, Winter-Spring, Winter-Summer, Fall-Spring, Fall-Summer, Spring-Summer. Have the students present the results to the class.
There are the four Seasons Scenes for the students to complete the weather and dressing the child that will be pasted there.
Included are the symbols of each season. It can be done as a group work. The students can write a text or do a show and tell about their season.
After the Seasons Scenes are reading, students can do free writing and create a poster.

These are games that you can play with the Seasons Unit or any other.
Word chain. Write a Season word on the board, e.g. Summer. Then the students have to say a word with the last letter of the word Summer, e.g. rain. This is a good warm up activity.
Spelling Game
Put a Season flashcard on the board and have teams or individuals make as many words as possible from those letters, e.g. Spring = S/sun, P/pants, R/rain, ,I/I, N/November, G/gloves.
Then, students write sentences using those words.

SEASONS and Weather

This is the second part of the Seasons Resource.

When teaching the Seasons, the Weather vocabulary is up. Here are the flashcards to introduce them.

Use the flashcards to sort the Weather into each Season on the board.
Teacher: What season is this ?
Students: Summer !
Teacher: What is the weather ?
Students: It is hot !
Teacher: When is it rainy ?
Students: In the Spring !
Teacher: What is the weather like in the Fall?
Students: It is cloudy and stormy !
There is a sorting worksheet to put this into practice. Have the students glue the weather words to each Season box.
This is how it looks like. As I told you before, dictate a color for each season and for each weather word.
Teacher: Winter is pink.
I took the templates provided with the months and had the students match month and weather to each season on their notebooks.
There is also a flap book to put together Seasons, Months and Weather.

There is a set of Seasons, Months and Weather Cards to sort.
It can be sorted out on a desk as group work.
It can be sorted out using recycled Mc Donald’s Fries containers.
Teachers love board games or game boards! Here is another one. Notice that it is a closed game board. Have one of the students throw the dice and depending the number it lands it will be the starting point. For example, if it lands in three or five, the students will start on the rain spot on the board.
The cards can be used or not. The cards are dark yellow and light yellow as the board. If the student lands on light yellow, well, read the light yellow card and answer the question in order to continue playing.
Each student will use a marker picture. I taped an opened clip in the back to make them stand.
Here is the printed the game.
A Seasons and Weather book. I made two versions, a reading book. It is a two in one page format, 7 pages to print.
A coloring and tracing book.
I put the book together using yarn.
And, watch the video on how the  book looks like.
A pocket chart for extra practice. Students can work alone or in pairs.
I made these cards for writing sentences. It’s like having prompts. Students select words from the cards and write sentences on their notebooks.
Worksheet one. It is a writing the vocabulary words practice.

Then, have the students cut all the vocabulary word boxes and write sentences.
Worksheet two. Have the students read and color each box. Then, cut each box and place a book ring to read as a book.

Introduce the Seasons Vocabulary with Flashcards.  I made full size and smaller flashcards depending on your class size.

Teacher: Spring! It’s Spring.
Ask more questions:
Teacher: Which Season is between Spring and Fall ?
Students: Summer!
I know that many teachers are in dual language settings and I am a Spanish Native Language Speaker. I made a set of Seasons Flashcards in Spanish.
Review the Months of the Year using the cards.
Have the students sort with you on the board the months for each Season.

Teacher: What month is this ?
Student: Winter! It’s Winter.
Teacher: Which months are there in the Winter ?
Student: December, January, February.
Teacher: When is Spring ?
Student: March, April, May.
Teacher: What season is it in July ?
Student: Summer!
Hand in the questionnaire to the students. They walk around asking questions to their classmates.

Then graph the results on the board.
Review the preposition used for Seasons.
A worksheet! Well, actually three. Hand in the first two worksheets to the students. Dictate how to color each letter of the Seasons Words.

Teacher: Color letter “e ”green. Which seasons has an “e ”?
Students: Summer! Winter!
Continue with all the other letters, it is an alphabet review and students will notice the spelling of the words.
Dictate how to color all the months of the year to practice listening.
Teacher: Color December pink.
When students finish coloring, they cut and paste the months in each Season box.

Students go their notebooks and pair each Season box to a picture.

And to finish the sorting, a worksheet to answer.
