Present Continuous Small Cards for Elementary English Language Learners

Handling and manipulating the Present Continuous small cards can make learning more interactive and engaging for the learners. Use the cads for writing the elementary english lesson plans.

Sentence Building Activity

 Cards can be used in sentence construction. Students pick a card and form a sentence using the Present Continuous tense, such as "She is doing homework."

Guess the Action Game

Divide a large piece of paper or board into a grid with rows and columns. I used ABC and 123, you can make yours to suit your needs. Glue the small cards.

Students can a write sentence per grid- A1- He’s jumping rope.

Action Charades

Students can do Acting.  B2: DRINK! I am drinking coffee!

You can ask questions:  B1- Is she playing the guitar or the violin?

Students: She’s playing the violin.

Play BINGO  for Practicing the Present Continuous Structure 

Students write 5 verbs or sentences from the grid. You call out the words or sentences. The first student to cross them out, wins.

Visual and tactile learning aids can help students better remember the structure and usage of the tense. Prepare a word display in an inflexible order. Just print the templates and assemble the display. I glued only the vertical spots on the horizontal structure. To put it together questions, just message me. Learners will move the strips to write the correct sentence to each small card.

Students can also write the sentences formed on their notebooks.
